In order to compete with larger lead generators, CarSlave became a leader in the fields of pay-per-click (PPC) and search engine optimization (SEO). For a monthly fee or on a pay-per-lead basis, leads and targeted internet traffic are sent to dealerships in plain text, HTML, or XML format.

Based on the strength and success of these PPC and SEO programs, out-of-market leads are generated. In order to maximize revenue, partnerships are set up with larger lead generators where leads are both bought and sold. The technology that powers this automated lead-trading engine remains the foundation of Auto Lead Exchange.

Kenai LLC is the sister company of CarSlave and acquired Auto Lead Exchange in 2003. Today, CarSlave is owned and operated by Cleven Styde LLC, and Auto Lead Exchange is owned and operated by Kenai LLC.
